IVS-CEP is offering a fund of PKR 10,000/- per participant for organizing two amazing events during the six-month diploma course. The total fund collected will be matched and allocated as a "seed budget" for organizing one small-scale and one medium-scale ticketed event.
Now, you might be wondering why we're so passionate about events? That's because Events Management has become a massive industry globally and in Pakistan, with an enormous economic impact.
In fact, a recent study conducted by the International Events Council in collaboration with Oxford Finance found that business events alone generated a whopping $621.4 billion (USD) of direct GDP and contributed a total economic impact of USD 1.5 trillion (of global gross domestic product) in 2021.
To put it into perspective, if the Event Industry were a country, it would rank above Australia, Indonesia, and Saudi Arabia in terms of the size of its economy!
Although there isn't much research and documentation on the Events Industry in Pakistan, we can safely say that it was one of the few industries that survived, transformed, and continued to grow during the COVID-19 pandemic.
That's why we have revamped and restructured our Events Management diploma to better respond to the ever-changing market demands, socio-cultural trends, economic and environmental pressures, and global trends and jobs being created.
Our diploma course will provide you with the orientation of the nuts and bolts of events execution, as well as emphasize how to conceptualize an event as per the client goals, understand the clients' needs, design an event in a given budget and client brief, identify and negotiate with vendors, ensure successful public relations and media management, and acquire sponsorships.
So, are you ready to become an expert in Events Management and organize some amazing events? Let's get started!
-
In this course, our aim is to develop your skills in a fun and engaging way that will make the learning process more interesting and productive. We want you to be able to take away as many practical and market-responsive skills as possible, so that you can apply them in your future career.
As part of this course, you will be required to organize not one, but two supervised group events, as well as one sponsored ticketed event. These events will be assessed by a panel of experts from the events industry, who will be looking out for the creativity, effective execution, financial management and feasibility of your events.
But don't worry, you won't be left on your own to figure things out! We will guide you every step of the way as you conceptualize and plan your event, and you will be working in assigned groups to create a theme-based event that will be held either at IVS or a free location. This will help you develop your practical skills in concept planning, market surveying, coordination and execution.
In addition to event planning, we will also be covering other important aspects of event management, such as event design and aesthetics, cost-effective execution, brand activation, public relations, media engagement, and marketing campaigns. You will also learn how to develop proposals for sponsorship and where to find sponsors. We will engage you in your own event/activation campaign, where you will be required to meet the ethical demands of the particular event.
By the end of this course, you will be equipped with the skills necessary to take up a career as an event planner or manager, whether you join an established firm or start your own business. While you will be performing various tasks and roles, this course is not aimed at making you an event vendor or an usher/intern. Instead, you will be prepared to take the lead in concept design and planning of an event. So, get ready to unleash your creativity and let's get started!
-
This course is the perfect fit for all you aspiring and early career professionals who are hungry for technical input and guidance on how to make your events stand out. But wait, there's more!
This course is also a great resource for anyone interested in starting their own events management business. Whether you're looking for a side hustle or a complete career change, we've got you covered!
Now, some of you may be wondering if this course is right for you. Well, fear not! This course is not just for seasoned professionals. Even A Level or undergraduate students who are still figuring out their career path can benefit from this course.
By getting a taste of practical field experience, you can make an informed decision about your future in the event industry.
So what are you waiting for? Join us on this exciting journey and let's make some unforgettable events together!
But let's be real, this field isn't for everyone. If you're afraid of getting out and about, navigating through markets, or exploring Karachi on your own, events management may not be the best fit for you. Likewise, if you have a habit of being tardy or unresponsive to urgent calls, you may want to consider a different career path.
Events management also requires you to be comfortable with working long hours, which may extend past sunset. So, if you're someone who prefers to stick to a strict 9-5 schedule, this may not be the industry for you.
Additionally, dealing with members of the opposite gender and those from diverse ethnic backgrounds is a must in this field. So, if you're shy or have difficulties interacting with people from different backgrounds, it may be time to consider other options.
Overall, events management can be a fun and rewarding career, but it's important to know what you're getting into. If you're up for the challenge and ready to push yourself to new limits, then this may be the perfect career for you!

How is it different From Basic Diploma in Interior Design?
So you're curious about the differences between the Basic Diploma in Interior Design and Décor and the Advanced Diploma? Well, let's break it down!
It's like baking, you see. Milk, self-raising flour and water are the basic ingredients for bread, but the same ingredients can also be used to create a flaky, crispy croissant. Similar, but definitely not the same thing.
In interior design, just like in baking, you can't change the foundation. You'll still be learning about lighting, elements of design, and color theory. However, the perspectives and treatments will be different.
The Advanced Diploma focuses on multi-function spaces and commercial spaces. Within residential spaces, you'll be designing a multi-function kitchen. And as for commercial/business spaces, you'll be creating designs for boutiques or even workspaces/offices.
So, while the basics may be the same, the Advanced Diploma will take you to new heights with its focus on commercial spaces and multi-functional design.
